Exactly one year ago today, I arrived in Paris with a group of 28 wonderful people from all walks of life. We cycled from London in 3 days and all of us raised over £90,000 for MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) for their health projects in Gaza. This event was a great inspiration to me, and was the catalyst for my Land’s End – John O’Groats bike ride.
All of us have great memories of the event, and I will not forget the privilege of meeting all these remarkably inspiring individuals, and 1 year on, I had a lovely reunion with a small number of them. First of all was Flavio Centofanti, who I met in the sunny reserves of Richmond Park during a training cycle and today I met some of the founders of this event, Tamara Ben-Halim and Misha Vaswani to discuss future fundraising efforts for the Palestinian cause. I also spoke on the phone to Avi Shlaim to discuss my project, on documenting this process once I have completed my 1000 miles. I would like to thank you all for the amazing support and encouragement!
After having cycled 88 miles this weekend, and 3 hours of tennis to keep the fitness up, this entry will be short and sweet. So, off to bed for some necessary rest, and see you at the fundraising event!
